It’s hard to believe that just a few short weeks ago the Rally Saint Louis kickoff event finally happened.
As a new-hire with Elasticity, Rally Saint Louis was one of my first projects. I was thrilled to have an opportunity to be part of the team that was making an effort to market St. Louis in a positive light.
The excitement and sometimes fear of planning for the unknown made for many interesting meetings.
The kickoff party on November 14 was a success. Around 200 of the St. Louis area’s influencers showed up to either give their support, find out what the heck this Rally Saint Louis buzz was all about, get some free food and drinks, and/or all of the above.
Nothing like the Rally initiative has ever been done before (that we’re aware of), and as a community, we’re all in this together figuring it out as we go.
The website is launched with enhancements being implemented daily. Our first voting round started on December 1. So far, we have 254 ideas submitted with 2,082 users and more than 4,400 votes.
I’m beaming with pride as I read through the ideas that have been submitted. Swings throughout the downtown area just for the heck of it? Yes, please. A microbrewery trolley system? Dang, I had that idea too! Have a St. Louis Day on March 14 because our area code is 314? Clever! And the ideas just keep coming.
At the end of every month, the Rally Saint Louis Marketing Board will review the top five voted ideas. They’ll put a budget in place for each idea and then the community crowdfunding round will begin.
There is never a dull moment with Rally Saint Louis. Each day new ideas are submitted and voted on.
Be sure to check the site often and stay tuned to see what ideas come to fruition. After all St. Louis, you’re the ones voting and calling the shots. Keep up the good work!
