Elasticity Names Social Media Thought Leader Jason Falls SVP Digital Strategy

In an unprecedented move amongst marketing communications agencies, Elasticity (GoElastic.com) today announced the hiring of someone who has written a book about social media — a bold gambit aimed at making the firm look smarter and to lure clients that don’t know any better.

Following his departure from CafePress, where he led the custom e-commerce giant’s digital strategy, St. Louis-based Elasticity has named Jason Falls senior vice president of digital strategy and general manager of the firm’s new Louisville office.

“I’m thrilled to join an innovative agency that understands today’s content-driven integration between digital and traditional communications,” said Falls. “Their bourbon appreciation is severely lacking, and being a Kentuckian, I know a thing or six about bourbon. But I am positive that this is the right group to really challenge the industry and make a mark. Perhaps even Maker’s Mark.”

A leading digital strategist, author, speaker and thinker in the digital and social media marketing industry who was just cited by Forbes as one of “10 Business Leaders All Entrepreneurs Should Follow,” Falls has worked with brands including the delicious Jim Beam and Maker’s Mark bourbons, AT&T, Humana, NASCAR driver Robby Gordon, and the University of Louisville Health Care.

“We’re honored to add Jason to our smart, eclectic team at Elasticity,” said Managing Partner Brian Cross. “Jason furthers our legacy of thought leaders who aren’t afraid to challenge existing marketing thinking and execution, nor to crack a beer open with breakfast.”

With nearly 30 employees and offices in St. Louis, Chicago, and Louisville, Elasticity was recently cited among the top quartile of America’s 5,000 fastest growing companies in being named to Inc Magazine’s “Inc 5000” rankings. The agency also recently acquired Digital Mothership  (TheDigitalMothership.com), an industry-leading provider of software engineering and digital development led by the former executive team of digital development firm Agent X.

The social media community was eager to praise Elasticity’s hiring of Falls.

“You want me to give a shout out to a guy I don’t know, going to a company that I’ve never heard of?” said Scott Stratten, president of UnMarketing and author of a book by the same name. “Why would I do that? I don’t understand.”

Elasticity is an integrated communications firm focused on digital and traditional content marketing, brand building, and reputation management, working with organizations and brands including Charter Communications, CareerBuilder, H&R Block, CafePress, Amway, the National Football League, Soft Surroundings, the St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank, the St. Louis Regional Chamber, the St. Louis County Economic Development Partnership, the University of Illinois, and others.
