  • Facebook launched hashtags on the platform last week and will be unrolling the feature to users over the next few weeks. Most expect additional announcements to come offering other Twitter-like features, including trending hashtags and sponsored hashtags.
  • Facebook will hold a news conference on June 20 to unveil some ‘big’ news. Rumors are swirling that Instagram will now allow video in an effort to compete with Twitter’s Vine.
  • A new study from Facebook ad platform Nanigans showcased the value in Facebook advertising.  Key insights included:
    • Promoted posts with photos delivered a 37 percent higher click-through rate than link ads and 20 times the CTR of righthand sidebar ads.
    • The cost per click for promoted posts with photos was 17 percent lower than the CPC for link ads and righthand sidebar ads.
