The Saint Louis Science Center was chosen as one of four museums nationwide to host Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission, a traveling special exhibition from the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. And Elasticity was chosen to produce a TV commercial to get the city pumped up about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
The Science Center is dedicated to igniting curiosity, especially amongst youngsters. With that insight, we devised a concept that would convey the history of the Apollo 11 Mission in a voice that resonated with kids…literally. Instead of your standard flashback, we synced the voices of kids with iconic sound bites from 1969:
“We choose to go to the moon!”
“Liftoff! We have a liftoff!”
“That’s one small step for man…one giant leap for mankind.”
Elasticity worked closely with talent and stakeholders to craft the perfect message that would not only resonate with viewers, but establish Destination Moon as a must-see exhibit. After rounds of meticulous edits. The finished product encouraged thousands of kids (and grownups) to “Go to the Moon.”
